Dr. Lance Bloom is a native of Broomfield, Colorado. After his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University–Idaho, he went on to complete his training as a Doctor of Optometry in 2013. He was part of the inaugural class at Midwestern University–Arizona College of Optometry. During his fourth year of optometry school Dr. Bloom completed two rotations at pediatric/vision therapy clinics, one in Ft. Collins and the other in Denver. Following those rotations he completed an ocular disease rotation at the Omni Eye Center of Kansas City. Dr. Bloom enjoys working with patients of all ages, but he especially enjoys working with children. He is trained in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of ocular complications, including but not limited to: Amblyopia, Strabismus (eye turn), blepharitis, bacterial and viral conjunctivitis (pink eye), chronic dry eye, corneal ulcers, ocular foreign bodies, cataracts, glaucoma, uveitis, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, and macular degeneration. He also takes great pride in helping to improve vision through the use of glasses, contact lenses, prism, and patching. Dr. Bloom is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Colorado Optometric Association.
Dr. Bloom’s ultimate goals are to help you see the very best possible, and ensure that your eyes are healthy for years to come. He understands that in order to treat each patient with the proper care that they need, it requires a team effort. This begins with excellent communication of exam findings and treatment options, with the final plan for treatment being determined by both the doctor and the patient together. This also includes working with parents, teachers, primary care physicians, ophthalmology, and other medical specialties to make sure each patient’s visual and general health needs are met. In his personal time he enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children, singing, playing guitar, watching sports (any Denver team), and playing basketball.
